Rocio Espinoza

Rocio Espinoza is the HSI Grants Director. She manages the grants and helps to promote the activities involved. She promotes higher education through the events that she plans and coordinates. In addition, she also co-created the college readiness presentation for students in high school to inform them of their options following graduation. Rocio was able to establish multiple programs to help students pursue academic success at SENMC, including Divide and Conquer: Math Camp and the Calculus Retreat. Moreover, through a STEM Grant that she helped promote, a mental health awareness campaign was launched, along with several campus made annual events, such as Earth Day, and the STEM carnival.  

Rocio is from El Paso, Texas and attended Ashford University to receive her bachelor's in Library Sciences and a Media Specialist, graduating in 2015, as well as her Master’s in Education with a minor in ESL in 2017. Before joining the Grants department, she worked as a kindergarten and middle school teacher between 2013-2019, and was a Student Success Coach between 2013 and 2021.
