Maung Thein Myint

Dr. Maung Thein Myint is a Data Management Specialist with the Grant Service Department from Sep 2023. He was a math tutor with the Learning Assistance Center. He has been with NMSUC/SENMC since 2018, and he holds a PhD Degree in Environmental Engineering from New Mexico State University-Las Cruces (2005), a master’s degree in environmental engineering from New Mexico State University-Las Cruces (2001), and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Yangon Technology University in Myanmar (1987).  Throughout his academic career, he participated in 21 peer-reviewed article publications as communication-, lead-, and/or co-authors. He also reviewed 65 manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals. He also reviewed the Southeast New Mexico College Policies. From 2005 to 2016, he worked on his post-doctoral research in environmental engineering for ~8 years on or off. In 2018, he taught as a part-time instructor at New Mexico State University-Las Cruces, before coming to Southeast New Mexico College. Prior to that, he had worked as an engineer in various positions across Myanmar, Malaysia, and Singapore. Maung was a member of a committee (Dec 2018- Mar 2019) to search for Provost of NMSU Las Cruces by using online. Maung orally presented more than five technical presentations in the United States. Maung also presented one technical poster presentation in the United Kingdom.
