Yaxi Zhao

Dr. Zhao is a Professor or Mathematics and is known by students as Dr. Z.

He joined the college in Fall 2009 after graduating from the University of Kentucky, where he studied Computer Science with an emphasis on Numerical Analysis. Prior to that, he obtained his Master of Science in Applied Mathematics at the University of North Caroline Wilmington. Dr. Z's undergraduate study was in Electrical Engineering in Control Systems.

At SENMC, he teaches the sequences of algebra and calculus courses. Besides math, he occasionally teaches Computer Information Technology classes such as Computer Literacy and (Web) Programming.

The work has kept him fully occupied. But whenever possible, he likes to go hiking and fishing. The mountains are breathtaking, and he never catch any big fish, but he just loves the sport.
