Southeast New Mexico College to host first Apprenticeship Expo
(Carlsbad, NM) The Southeast New Mexico College Workforce and Community Engagement department is excited to host its first ever Apprenticeship Expo, that will be held on Friday, October 24th, from 8 AM - 2 PM at the SENMC Gym, 1500 University Drive, Carlsbad NM.
The Apprenticeship Expo is designed to connect aspiring electricians, industry leaders, training providers, and apprenticeship opportunities for a day of networking and career exploration.
“SENMC is very excited to host the Apprenticeship Expo to help us understand the needs of the surrounding community and industry. Our aim is to provide apprentice programs to give Industry the talent they require with the necessary knowledge, skills, and certifications to perform jobs safely and effectively." Said Chris Spaulding, Interim Vice President of Workforce Development and Community Engagement.
The event will include a industry presentation at 10 AM as well as booths from industry representatives, employers, and training programs.
“The Apprenticeship Expo is more than an event, it’s a launchpad for careers in the skilled trades,” said Monty Harris, Dean of Work-Based Learning at Southeast New Mexico College. “By bringing together industry leaders, training providers, and aspiring electricians, we’re creating a powerful space for connection, opportunity, and growth. Whether you're exploring your first career or looking to upskill, this expo is your gateway to a future built on purpose and potential.” Harris continued.
